As of the 2016-2017 school year, Indiana'southward schools were domicile to more than l,500 English language learners. INTESOL is the Indiana affiliate of Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages and is an all-volunteer group comprised of teachers, professors, administrators and university students.

Indiana: Seal of Biliteracy

Indiana adopted the Seal of Biliteracy in 2022 (signed into constabulary by then-Governor Mike Pence). The Seal of Biliteracy is an award given past a school, district, or state in recognition of students who accept studied and attained proficiency in two or more languages past high school graduation.
